Welcome to the Unofficial Site for the DuPont State Forest, more than 10,000 acres of forest, trails, and waterfalls between Hendersonville and Brevard, North Carolina.


	Is there Hope for our Hemlocks? Friends of DuPont is working closely with the Forest staff as they struggle to save our beautiful Hemlocks. Both chemical controls and biological controls are being applied throughout the Forest. Also, learn about a new group of local volunteers working to save Hemlocks on nearby private lands.

	Muddy Sneakers gets kids in the woods A new non-profit gives elementary students valuable outdoor learning experiences in places like DuPont State Forest and Pisgah National Forest. Learn more . . .

	Triple Falls The third of the Little River Falls, Triple consists of three distinct cascades, totalling about 120' in vertical drop. Featured in the movie Last of the Mohicans, Triple Falls is about a seven minute walk from the Hooker Falls parking area.

	Help preserve nearby Rich Mountain The Rich Mountain Conservancy needs to raise $500,000 to purchase and preserve a 180 acre tract at the top of Rich Mountain very near DuPont State Forest. Learn ways to help us reach this goal.
