The NC Division of Forest Resources now has a new Facebook page with update information on DuPont and other State Forests.

DSRF Information Update 5-15-13

Hooker Falls Access Area Closed – Hooker Falls and the Hooker Falls access area are closed for construction of a trail bridge. Triple Falls, High Falls and Bridal Veil Falls are open, and can be reached from the High Falls access area. The closure will last about two months. Moore Cemetery Road and Holly Road are also closed.

Bridge Construction near Hooker Falls – Construction of a recreational bridge near Hooker Falls access area began May 15, 2013. When completed, the bridge will improve safety by allowing visitors to reach Triple Falls without walking along the highway or crossing the highway bridge.

Grassy Creek Trail will be closed until May 25 for maintenance work.

DuPont Trails Day – There will be a celebration of DSRF Trails on Saturday, June 1 at 10:00 a.m. at the High Falls access area. The celebration will highlight recent trail improvements and the efforts to maintain DSRF trails to a high standard.
