I have lived my entire life in New England until retiring and moving to Brevard two years ago. Betsey and I and our golden retriever Winslow moved there from New Hampshire. We have always cherished outdoor activities. In New Hampshire we spent our winters skiing and snowshoeing while the rest of the year we could be found hiking in the White Mountains kayaking the many lakes. We are also very active road cyclists. While in New Hampshire we became members of the Appalachian Mountain Clubs’ 4000-Footer Club.

Since moving to Brevard to escape the New England winters we have continued these activities while also taking up mountain biking and fly fishing. We are always outside whether engaging in one of these activities or maintaining our gardens. We really enjoy that DuPont State Forest is out our backdoor.

While in New Hampshire I owned a small business, which was an association management company. We provided business and administrative services to nonprofit associations. Since moving to Brevard I have continued to volunteer my extensive knowledge and experience with nonprofit associations. I plan to utilize these skills with the Friends of DuPont Forest as well.
Before owning this small business, I had an extensive career in publishing both with a regional business newspaper as well as with a national magazine.

Betsey and I are looking forward to the day when our grandchildren can come down and experience DuPont State Forest.
