Cheryl Calver grew up in High Point, NC and moved to the Asheville area to begin her career as a public school teacher. She fell in love with the mountains and has been here ever since.
Cheryl has been a member and volunteer of Friends of DuPont Forest for several years and is now serving her third year as a board member. Cheryl and her husband, Rick, are also members of the Back Country Horsemen of Pisgah and the Pisgah Trailblazers, equestrian groups that work on trail clearing and other projects designated by the rangers in the Pisgah National Forest and Dupont State Recreational Forest.
“What I love most about Dupont is being able to ride my horse on the multi use trails and enjoy being out in the woods and to view the spectacular waterfalls,” she says. “It’s a wonderful place to bring my family and friends for a picnic and a hike.”
