Friends of DuPont Forest is excited to announce a new grant program focused on caring for the area’s trails, waterfalls and natural resources. The organization is now accepting applications for its Educational and Research Grant Program for 2022.
The goal of the grant program is to provide funding that will enable individuals or groups to conduct research or complete a project that has a tangible outcome for DuPont State Recreational Forest. The projects must complement the mission of the Forest as set by the N.C. Forest Service, and must be implemented by youth and young adults and oriented toward education, research or service.
Applicants must either be 1) individuals under the age of 25 who have a sponsoring organization, or 2) an organization representing youth who will be performing the project. Applicants must reside in western North Carolina or upstate South Carolina.
DuPont State Recreational Forest, commonly known as DuPont Forest, is a 12,500-acre state forest, located in Henderson and Transylvania counties of North Carolina.
