DuPont Forest is open! As visitors it is up to us to act responsibly and practice social distancing to avoid additional closures.

Most of the trail system is open and visitors should come prepared to access trails and keep moving!

How to practice social distancing in the outdoors

  • If you are sick STAY HOME!
  • Keep moving! Don’t linger in the parking lot or in other areas in the Forest.
  • Stay 6 feet away from people not in your group. Be aware of others around you and give them space to safely get by you on the trail.
  • Wear or carry a mask.
  • Take it easy – don’t end up in the ER.
  • Come prepared! Know where you are going and pack essentials

Water
Snacks
Hand sanitizer
Small shovel to bury your waste (bathrooms will remain closed)
Trash bag so you can pack it in and pack it out

  • Stay local and avoid crowded places.  If a parking lot is full, don’t try to force yourself in. Find another place to enjoy the outdoors. Avoid busy times by coming in the early morning or late afternoon.
  • You don’t need to post every ride, hike, or experience on social media and if you insist – please lead by example and show how you can social distance in the woods.
