Jonas fell in love with the outdoors as a young man, having lived in a home on the cusp of a 9200 acre reservoir watershed. Summers were spent hiking the miles of fire roads, playing in the extensive stream network, and building trails for his mountain bike addiction. His interest in conservation came after volunteering to stock trout for Save our Streams at a local tributary of the Chesapeake Bay. It was this sentinel event that led to a life volunteering to nurture the delicate balance between nature and recreation.
Jonas attended the University of Maryland – College Park, where he studied Economics and Finance. He worked his way through school as a landscaper in the Summer, and as a professional ski instructor in the Winter, furthering his affinity of the great outdoors.
Professionally, Jonas brings with him experience in Corporate Finance and Healthcare to the Friends of DuPont Board of Directors. Additionally, he is also trained in Six Sigma and Lean process improvement methodologies, working with both large health systems, and non profit organizations.
Jonas lives in Greenville, SC with his wife and two daughters.
